Allergen & Compliance Notice
Allergen & Compliance Notice
Benario supplies food-grade ingredients for food businesses, formulators, manufacturers and product developers.
Some products may contain or be derived from allergens. Some products may also be regulated as food additives, colours, processing aids or formulation ingredients depending on the country, product category and intended use.
This page explains important responsibilities for buyers.
Allergen Notice
Some Benario products contain, may contain, or may be derived from allergens including but not limited to:
Milk
Soy / soya / soybean
Wheat or gluten-containing cereals, where relevant
Other allergens depending on product source and supplier documentation
Known allergen risks are identified on product pages where relevant. However, customers must verify allergen suitability for their own finished products and production environment.
Products Containing Milk
Products such as Skim Milk Powder and Lactose Powder are milk-derived.
They are not suitable for products marketed as:
Dairy-free
Milk-free
Vegan
Lactose-free, unless the finished product is specifically verified and compliant
Finished products containing milk-derived ingredients must declare milk where required.
Products Containing Soy
Products such as Soybean Lecithin are soy-derived.
They are not suitable for products marketed as soy-free unless the final product and documentation support that claim.
Finished products containing soy-derived ingredients must declare soy, soya or soybean where required.
Gluten and Source Status
Some ingredients may have source or substrate considerations.
For products such as yeast extract or other fermentation-derived ingredients, gluten-free, allergen-free, vegan, halal, kosher or non-GMO status should not be assumed unless supported by batch-specific or supplier documentation.
If these claims are important, request documentation before purchase.
Food Colours
Food colour permissions vary by country and product category.
Some colours are permitted in certain markets but restricted or not permitted in others.
Customers must confirm:
Whether the colour is permitted in the destination market
Whether it is permitted for the product category
Maximum permitted use level
Required warning statements
Correct label declaration
Any restrictions for children’s foods, supplements, medicines or export products
Do not assume that an E number, FD&C name or Colour Index number means a colour is permitted in all countries.
Food Additives and Processing Aids
Some Benario products may be used as food additives, acidity regulators, preservatives, emulsifiers, colours, buffers, flavour enhancers, chelating agents or processing aids depending on the application.
Customers are responsible for confirming:
Permitted use
Maximum level
Ingredient declaration
Function declaration
Processing aid status
Carryover rules
Finished-product compliance
Amino Acids and Nutrition Ingredients
Benario supplies amino acids and nutrition ingredients as formulation ingredients.
They are not supplied as finished dietary supplements, medicines or therapeutic goods.
Customers must not make unsupported therapeutic, medical, performance, disease, recovery, sleep, fertility, blood-flow, muscle-growth or health claims unless those claims are legally permitted for the finished product in the target market.
COA, SDS and Product Documentation
COA and SDS documents are available on request for most products.
Additional documentation such as allergen statements, gluten statements, GMO statements, halal statements, kosher statements, vegan statements or source declarations may be available for some products.
Availability varies by product, supplier and batch.
If a document is required for your formulation, audit, export order or customer approval, request it before purchase.
Cross-Contact
Benario handles a range of food ingredients, including allergens such as milk and soy.
Although reasonable care is taken in handling and packing, customers requiring strict allergen-free status should request batch documentation and assess suitability before purchase.
Finished-product allergen control remains the responsibility of the buyer.
Finished Product Responsibility
Customers are responsible for:
Confirming ingredient suitability
Checking applicable laws and food standards
Determining permitted use levels
Preparing compliant labels
Declaring allergens correctly
Calculating nutrition panels
Validating finished-product safety and shelf life
Supporting any claims made on packaging or marketing
Managing manufacturing controls and cross-contact risk
Ensuring import/export compliance
Benario does not approve finished products or final labels.
